Inspiration – where do you get it?

I wanted to have a personal blog some time ago. But I always sad it wasn’t a good time and that I’m going to start writing when inspiration comes, or when I will know what to write about and so on. Last week Atdhe Buja wanted to add me as a contributor to his blog so i would write from time to time about Microsoft SQL Server 2008. To do that I needed an account. So I created an account and there I was the newest blogger in the world, without knowing what to write about in my blog.

Then created a new post, still trying to figure out what to write about. Waiting for inspiration… That’s when I thought why not writing about inspiration itself. It came to my mind Pablo Picasso’s saying “Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working”. Maybe it is true. If i had waited for inspiration, I would never created a blog and would never write a line.

I just want to tell you that you have to do the best you can do.You have to start doing what you want to do, you don’t have to wait for inspiration to come because it will not come that way. You have to work as hard as you can. Only then you will find inspiration, then you will have luck, then you can work even harder to achieve what you want to achieve. If you fail, it’s not the end of the world you have to get up and try again and again. I want you to know that inspiration is something that you can learn, something that you have to build within yourself. You can only do that if you work toward your goals.

How about you? Where do you get your inspiration? Please comment and let me know what you think!

  1. Donka, happy first blogging:). I remember back in Uni, for one of the subjects we were asked to blog and to be honest it wasn’t the fun thing that we wanted to do as most of us in the first instance said ‘Ohh just another thing to waste our time”. However, only after my first blog for that subject, i started to enjoy it. My blogging lasted only for those 3 months though, until the completion of the subject. It kind of served me as a reflective learning on the subject and group work each week. And it’s been 4 years since then that I haven’t blogged at all. In answer to your post “where do you get your inspiration”, well I just got inspired when I checked your blog page:). I think Inspiration comes to us in different forms, ways, sorroundings, different people we meet and work with that we’re not aware of most of the time but we simply feel it. Thanks for inspiring me to reply to your blog.

    Till next time…
